Conversation practice
Hard conversations, trained as reps you can count.
For anyone who freezes, over-apologises, gives in or explodes when a conversation with a partner, a parent, a boss or a roommate gets hard.
The first rep is free, no signup

A gym, not a script. Pick the conversation you keep dodging and practise it, one rep at a time.
Built by a practising therapist.
When it gets hard, I tend to…
- Freeze
- Over-apologise
- Give in
- Explode
Step 1
Name your move
Everyone has one. When a conversation gets hard, which are you?
- Freeze: the words just go.
- Over-apologise: sorry, before you have said anything.
- Give in: yes, fine, whatever you want.
- Explode: it all comes out at once.
Who is it with?
- PPartner: We need to talk about money
- PParent: I am not coming home for the holidays
- BBoss: I cannot take on another project
- RRoommate: The dishes, again
Step 2
Pick who it is with
A partner, a parent, a boss or a roommate. Start with the one you keep putting off.
- Choose the person from your own life.
- The moment you choose is the one you rehearse.
You said you would do the dishes. It has been three days.
Sorry, sorry, you are right. It is fine, do not worry about it.
I said I would do them and I did not. I will do them tonight, and I would like us to split the rota properly.
Step 3
Do the rep
One hard moment, start to finish. Then it goes on the count.
- The other person speaks first, the way they would.
- You choose how to answer, and you can go again.
- Every finished rep adds one to your count.
